Four roles, and what each one can actually touch.

There are four roles in BuildingCX: Owner (full authority — whoever creates the org starts here), Admin (everything Owner has except changing org settings), CxA (everything Admin has except editing or removing existing org members, or changing org settings — CxA can still invite new members, and can approve checklists and manage templates, contractors, and issues), and Contractor (scoped to the work assigned to them — checklists, issues, functional tests, schedule — with no access to templates, contractors, members, settings, or the audit log).

One naming collision worth clearing up: the Owner role (full org authority) and the Owner Portal (the external, no-login stakeholder access described in Owner Portal) are two different things that happen to share a word. A building owner using the portal link isn’t necessarily anyone with the Owner role in your organization — they’re usually not a member of your org at all.
