Inviting Your Team

Three different ways to bring people onto a project, depending on who they are.

BuildingCX has three separate invite mechanisms, and which one you use depends on who you’re inviting.

Org team members (other CxA staff or admins) get invited from Settings → Team Members. Pick a role — CxA or Admin — and you’ll get a copyable link. No email goes out automatically; you send the link yourself.

Contractors get added at the project level: assign a company and contact to a trade, and a separate invite goes out tied to that specific assignment. This is how a contractor ends up scoped to exactly the project and trade they’re working on.

Building owners and other stakeholders don’t get an invite at all — you generate a shareable link with an access token directly from the project. No signup required on their end, and you can revoke access at any time.

Whoever accepts an invite has to sign in or sign up with the exact email address it was sent to. New users land on /welcome, which lists everything they’ve been invited to.
